Trek to Tringalwadi Fort and Tringalwadi Caves

Updated: Dec 9, 2020

This was my 1st camping trek and I was most excited for it , but the experience from this night trek is somewhat on next level . Speaking of reaching the fort we got into the Kasara local got off at the Kasara railway station and got a ST bus for the base village Tringalwadi. From there the trek starts , the one mistake we did was that we started this trek in the late afternoon so after some time I remember us reaching a lake side and having a small meal and thinking how easy this trek is going to be .

So as we began the trek again after that short break , we missed a turn or took a wrong turn , we had calculated that we would reach the top before sunset but it was around 8 pm pitch dark and us realizing that we had lost our way. Taking a small break thinking what to do and where to camp we came up with a plan , the plan was to go non stop upwards till there is a way and camp directly there, also we had some luck on our side as one of my friend's phone's GPS was working and it was showing us the way to the temple which was at the top.

That's the video of us finally finding a way or we thought we had found our way, long story short we somehow managed to reach the top at around 11:30 or 11:45 . We felt so relieved and saved when we saw the temple as it was the place to settle down for the night . So 4 of us started to set our camp and I was searching for some dry wood for making our so called dinner. We made some maggie and omlet also some bread , had our bodies settle for some time and at around 2am we started playing cards in our tent . And not realizing how exhausted we were fell asleep.

We woke up around 8 am , it was very cold outside and again I went to search for some firewood , lit our fire had some leftover bread from the night made a little sandwich out of it.

Of course we missed the sunrise but our last night experience of us looking at sunset was far more memorable and exhausting. After taking some more photos and packing everything up we started descending down ,now on the right part . On the way down now we finally found the the Tringalwadi Caves which is one of the main attractions here , it was the most exhausting trek till date. While returning we again hopped into a jeep from the base village which left us at the railway station and there we said our final goodbye to this trek.

This was our morning breakfast....

And the below video of our tent.
