Trek to Naneghat and Jivdhan Forts

So after doing many treks on our own personal vehicles it was time to try the best way that is public travel to complete this trek. But that did'nt work according to the plan as I will further explain at the end. So starting about the route our trek started at Kalyan in the morning, we headed for the ST bus depot and hopped in the bus to Vaishakhare that is also the base village of Naneghat. it took us around 2 hours from Kalyan to reach the base. And then our trek begun.....

So it was around 11 we started our trek and it was a winter afternonn so it was very exhausting , speaking of the way up its not that hard as there are arrows showing you the right way also its not that hard for a beginner ,of course its exhausting since it may take you more than 3 hours to complete this trek .One may know that he is nearing the top when you will come across the Naneghat caves where you can rest and have your food. But keep the doors of the cave closed as there are monkeys here that will try to snatch your food.

Also you can fill water as there is plenty of it available here, we continued on upwards after taking a little rest in the cave and finally reached the top. There is also an alternative way where you can reach Naneghat without climbing as a road leads you to it. As soon as we reached the top ,the sun also started to come down on us and we started to look for a place to set up our camp and also bought some firewood as there is nothing up in the plateau, the camping place was finally decided and we started cooking our food at around 8 or 9 in the night we made some egg bhurji and omlet , but the temperature was so low that the food could'nt be kept warm for more than 2 minutes . We finished eating our dinner and staring at the stars we all fell asleep in our camps...

Next day we woke up around 8 , it was below 10 degrees and we started a fire and made some soup and maggi. Packed our bags and tents and were on the move to Jivdhan fort which is another major attraction here , it took us more 2 hours completing Jivdhan fort and as planned we started our descending journey towards Junnar side ,thats not he way we came up .So around 5 in the evening we reached Junnar ST stand and found out that the bus that was suppose to leave for Kalyan was not available as it was a part of some accident, so here we made a mistake as before finding the means of transport to return we went and had our nice little refreshment 'missal pav' .

Around 6 we started searching some way to get back to Kalyan but there was not even a single vehicle ready to take us back . After searching for another 2 to 3 hours we found a truck guy who would drop us till Kalyan but his truck was scheduled to leave at 2 am, luckily we found a tourist van that was going to Titwala which agreed to drop us but we had to go standing the whole way..

I know its getting long but these are the thing you should plan before hand , I reached Titwala station so exhausted caught a train that was just about to leave ,got down at Dombivli with friends and the last train to leave from Badlapur was cancelled and I had to stay at my friends house in Dombivli....

As a whole this whole 2 day journey was a great adventure and I also learnt the importance of planning our trip before hand with backups..

Here are some videos and a small gallery.
