Trek to Kundalika Valley Point, Kailasgad and Ghangad

So this time we thought of making our camping site a little far. So starting from the means of our journey, we had 2 scooties and a bike we started from Ghatkopar around 6 in the morning to travel more than 130km to reach Kundalika valley point. The initial travelling road was so good and we had fun riding up to Lonavala where we stopped at various famous points.

Then starts the real adventure ,once you are just 30 to 20km from your destination the muddy and kaccha road starts and it's so bad that I would not recommend any of you reading this blog to travel from this road on a 2 wheeler.

Still after taking all that toll for literally anywhere between 4 to 5 hours we somehow reached the Kundalika valley point . Reaching there is an adventure itself, so taking some clicks and then keeping our bags at Hotel AROHI we started our trek to Kailasgad which is not more than 3 km form the valley point. Also have your lunch at this hotel ,only for 200rs they will give you unlimited chicken thali.

Here's the view from Kundalika valley point

The trek to Kailasgad is not that hard as the initial climbing part is steep but after some times we can see the top ,it's not more than an hours climb .Since we started this around 5 in the evening we witnessed a nice sunset form the top and then returned back in complete darkness.

Coming back to the hotel they provided us with a place to camp ,I bet the weather there was way to chilling. We made the preparation to camp ourselves in and again had our dinner there at the hotel (by hotel I mean its a small place where they give you home made food).

The next day we came out of our tents with backpain of course and a beautiful view of the mountains. So without wasting any time we gathered our tents had some breakfast at the same hotel and went on to the base of Ghandgad which is on the return way of the same journey.

And now again we had to cross that 20 km path of bad road once again . Reaching the base of Ghandad, we found a villagers house to keep our bags and started this trek . This trek is also very simple for a regular trekker, for the starting part you have to go in the way of the fence and then the way will be all clear.

Form the top of Ghandgad you can actually view the other side of the valley and also 2 more forts are visible. Don't miss the whole section of the fort as the left and right section will give you different views altogether.

Descending down is very easy but the toll that our bodies had due to that bad road was very painful . Also it's only safe if you are a regular biker to travel this far and do these treks.

Here are some pics and videos from the top section of Ghgangad fort.

There was mot much to write anything because these forts are very far from Mumbai and also the way up is not that confusing so if you are thinking of a nice relaxed weekend trip and have a car with you do visit them....
