Trek to Kohoj Fort

This trek happened during the best time to visit this fort that is the start of monsoon . We were a group of four started from Mumbai , boarded the local and reached the Palghar station early in the morning. From there we caught a ST bus and reached the base Vaghote village . The trek is not that hard but it is sure tiring ,as you start the trek you come across a reservoir and from there the hill starts.

There's nothing much on the way up only some plateaus and dense forest like areas , so the way up is not much confusing. Of course in the humid weather it is tiring like hell so carry enough water, also there is water available on the fort but that is only after the more than 2 hours of climb to reach the top.

So after hiking for more than 1 hour and almost finishing up our water supply we came across a plateau region , the way up now was fully covered in mist and also its started raining a bit. We somehow managed to reach the top even with minimum visibility that too not getting lost. Once you reach the top you will se the temple and a huge plateau . On the one side of the plateau there is the top most section of the fort and the other side gives you a nice scenic view.

Here some videos from the top of the fort...

On the way back we encountered a nice heavy rainfall , the way became more unclear and slippery also it was not safe to descend faster ,so we took more time to descend than ascend the fort. In summary this is one of the best one day treks for people living in Mumbai or nearby , the trek is not that hard and the scenic view in the monsoon is very pleasing.

Couldn't write much about this trek as I am writing about it after 2 years of the trek ,sorry for the delay.
