This was my 2nd trek and almost a vacation trip as we completed Haihar fort on the 1st day then Brahmagiri and Bhandardurgh on the second day. So starting from travelling we caught the 1st local train and got off at Kasara railway station , after that we boarded a ST bus which took us to the base village of Harihar fort Nirgudpada. From there the trek starts , speaking of Harihar fort the way till reaching the steps of the fort is a little confusing but after taking a few wrong turns and getting lost for 1 hour we some how reached the steps of the fort.
From the above pictures you may have guessed that this fort is not for the faint hearted and people with fear of heights please avoid this fort as much as possible. The steps are almost 90 degree steep and this is where your stamina will be put to test , also the most dangerous thing on this trek is that there are people coming down from the fort when you are climbing up put it together with the wind speed there and the narrow way for going up.....you calculate the risk.
Once you have reached the top you can view the scenery like in the pictures . I went to this trek during summer so you will not find much greenery , but but still its safe in summer as you don't have the risk of slipping from the steps.
carry as much of water possible and if possible follow up my next day trip.
Now to the next trip but the same day , so after completing Harihar fort we went to Trimbak and there took a room to stay at night in a locals house , the food was also provided by them and I promise it was worth every penny . The next day we started early went on to visit the Trimbakeshwar temple , the entry to the temple and the exit was too quick as there were less people in the morning.
From there we asked some locals form where the Bhramagiri trek starts , the way is simple and mostly consist of steps after , a point you will encounter a sign showing two ways enter the left side from there the way to Bhramagiri is very easy one can complete it running if you have the required stamina. The main part of this fort as I mentioned earlier that I visited it during summer so you will get as many shops as required during the way for refreshments .
From the Bhramagiri fort you have a choice to visit Bhandargurgh that is a strategic position of ancient times from where you can watch the whole Trimbak city and any kind of enemy approaching toward you. I bet the way from Bhramagiri to Bhandardurgh is very exciting as it goes through rocks and enclosed caves its just awesome.
On the return journey we caught a jeep that left us directly to Kasara railway station....
