This was my 1st trek after the ease of lockdown which was due to the corona virus pandemic. Speaking of Peb fort I had already tried to complete it just after completing my 10th boards but was not able to complete it as the route through Neral railway station is just too confusing, you have to find the route through the electric poles and most of people don't get it , so this time we went through the Matheran route. Total we were a group of 8 trekkers , we had 3 bikes and 1 scooty . We all reached Matheran hill station early in the morning , parked our vehicles and started this trek. Once the railway track route ends you can view a huge Ganpati idol and that's where the entry for Peb fort is.
The way to Peb fort is through a right turn as you start descending , yes descending at the start towards it (there's a bell and a staircase entrance) , the left way will lead you to the Ganpati idol.
Considering the post monsoon season you will see a few waterfalls and the scenery is epic , the way to reach the top is not that difficult and even a 1st time trekker can do it , the way up you will see a number of hills which you need to cross in order to reach the final temple at the top.
Once you had reached the temple at top , you can rest for an hour before descending , eat your food and also beware as there are monkeys present here and speaking from personal experience I had lost my food.
The temple where you are resting seems to be on a single rock with no support . You get a nice view from there
Considering the difficulty of this trek its not that tiring but will take you at least 2 to 3 hours to complete this trek , if you live in Mumbai do visit this one day trek. Be safe and complete this trek through Matheran as the chances of not loosing the way is good....
