Cycling to golden bridge that is the ' Mahalunge Hinjewadi floating bridge 'was one of the longest cycling routes I covered during my internship period in Pune. It was around 33 Kms of round trip from Chinchwad. We started our journey early in the morning, with sweaters on ourselves since Pune's winter weather is very harsh. The road mostly consist of IT parks of Hinjewadi and long stretches of highways.
There is off-roading for at least a Km before you reach the bridge. This is the best part as the road is narrow plus full of potholes and you have to cycle carefully through it. As soon as we reached the bridge we were both happy and sad cause we were just in time for the sunrise, but the bridge was under renovation and the entry was blocked. Still we managed to lock our cycles on the road and get on it somehow, clicked some photos and escaped before any one would scold us.
Still it was one of the best places I had visited . On the way back we had some breakfast and me as a novice cycled very slowly and was late for the office :)) . There is not much info available about this bridge on the internet but do visit it if you are near Hinjewadi Pune.
