Ok this time we took the harder way to reach the Bhimashankar temple which is from Karjat whose base village is Khandas village .We were 5 people from Dombivali and drove overnight to reach early in the morning at the base . Already deprived of sleep we were on the way to complete a 3.5 hour trek , we parked our car and started this adventurous trek. Starting from the base you will encounter 1st stairs in around 1 hour and from there the actual trek begins. I would recommend you to do this trek in monsoon as the weather is pleasing and you can find some nice small waterfalls in the way.
So once you reach the 1st ladder you are already out of breath ,as the climb is not easy take smaller breaks as you keep climbing the stairs and once you complete the stairs, the plain area comes where you can find some refreshments. Have a nice short break here as the further climb is more difficult.
As you start your trek again from the plain plateau region there are further harder climbs but the way is not that much confusing so try to reach the top as soon as possible as the rush in temple is increasing the more you spend your time resting.
So the last part of the climb is exhausting ,complete it with caution and there you are at the top. , There is also a concrete road leading you directly to the temple but where is the fun in that .It took us around 3.5 hours completing this trek and we were completely out of energy at the end,. We entered the temple and sat there for nearly an hour regained some energy and explored the whole Bhimahankar area.
It took us another hour to explore the top and then there we had our lunch and started our descend you can also spot an another fort which can also be seen in the video below . Still in the monsoon weather the trek is not that hard, the descending part can be difficult if it is raining heavily. But we were lucky there was no rain we descended and reached to our car and also safely reached home by evening.
